Michiya Mihashi who was well-known
great singer in Japan was the loved disciple of Tameshichiro
Miura the 1st.
Tameshichiro Miura the 1st was Michiya Mihashifs uncle and
Michiya Mihashifs mother was also Minyo singer. When Michiya
was 10 years old he participated in Hokkaido Minyo competition
and got the first prize. At that time Michiya sung Esashi
Oiwake. When he was 12, he made his first record.
Michiya Mihashi was also famous with Tsugaru shamisen.
He studied with Gunpachiro Shirakawa, the father of Tsugaru
shamisen.
Nowadays Tsugaru shamisen is popular and several young
musicians play Tsugaru shamisen in Japan and overseas.
But it was Michiya Mihashi who
showed Tsugaru shamisen in Japan first.
And his many songs became very popular and in 1983, the
sales of the number of his record became 100million.
